FAQ

How do I stop grout from staining?
We recommend that all new grout is sealed with a sealant from our Aquamix range. If the grout is old, there are also a range of cleaners available from Aquamix that you can use and then you would seal after this.
What if I wanted to attempt my own tiling?
We are more than happy to advise clients on attempting their own tiling – we also have a range of tools available, for hire or purchase, available in store.
Can timber floors be tiled over?
We advise to overlay with tile and slate underlay in order to brace any flex in the floor. Alternatively, you can use a high flexible adhesive with grout booster.
Are tiles slippery?
Yes, some are, but by using our specialist coatings this problem can be solved, enabling you to choose from our wide range of tiles.
Why do I need waterproofing?
All critical wet areas, for example showers, need to be waterproofed to protect the substrate from leaking. It is a common myth that GIB is waterproof – it is only water resistant. We use a waterproofing membrane under our tiling that is also anti-fracture, so in the event of any movement in your substrate you will be protected.
