Testimonials from our Happy Gisborne Clients!
Some thoughts on our renovations in regard to tiling . . .
Firstly, we assumed (like many others) that it was cheaper to buy out of Gisborne. So we shot off to Auckland, Hamilton and even Whakatane (which was ridiculous in hindsight!) Problem was, we would look at “end of line” lots which were cheaper, but then there wouldn’t be enough and of course they weren’t making any more. At one point we did buy some from Hamilton but ended up not getting enough tiles and then had to pay for expensive cartage (yep, they are pretty heavy) to get them to Gisborne!
In the end we gave up and got the rest of our tiles through The Tile Shed, which is what we should have done in the beginning and saved ourselves money and heartache. Mel and Neil know their stuff. They know what tiles need to go where, the difference in quality and density; they gave us a great price AND Neil is a MASTER at laying tiles. We gave Neil “carte blanche” in the bathroom and he did an awesome job. Mel was brilliant helping with the colour for the glass tiles in the kitchen behind the gas hob, she has a good eye for fashion and colour. Fantastic.
A year on, everything still looks brand new like it went in yesterday. If we renovate again we would not consider going anywhere else. As is said on Trademe - HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS TRADER!

I have been involved in property for a long time now and have been a customer of The Tile Shed for the last three years. Neil and Mel have a great range of tiles to suit all purposes and budgets, plus get the job done with the minimum of fuss. They’re great to deal with as well as always being friendly and professional.

Notice the worn track from entrance to counter, that was me. I was back and forward, taking samples, trying them out, not quite right back for more, taking them out not quite right, back for more. Call me fussy, incapable of decision making, whatever but I got it right in the end. There was so much to choose from, so many options I’d never have thought out for myself.
The strange thing was Mel Neil, and Maree seemed to think I was behaving quite normally, didn’t seem to bat an eyelid smiled nodded and didn’t seem in a rush to get my business, so relaxed, so friendly, I didn’t feel pushed, I couldn’t help but throw business at them.
Down to earth folk, call a spade a spade, the crack is worth just going in for a look. Fantastic job done, and I’ve heaps more to do we’ll be going back.

Absolute transition, adds the final finishing touch, couldn't ask for a nicer, funnier, or more caring Guy, workmanship of top standard, and go to the shop for an amazing display of options and ideas and the loveliest lady to assist you in making your choice. Neil and Mel deserve always the best. The bathroom now has a lovely warm atmosphere that makes bathing an absolute pleasure.
